Small exclusive boutique hotels have become more popular among the well-to-do tourists than prominent hotel brands. Unlike eminent comfortable hotels distinguished by their uniformity, boutique hotels are prepared to offer a personalized approach to client’s interests.
Hotel reservations income of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has increased by 25 percent in the year 2006, and the chain has opened another 70 hotels during the year 2007. Preferred Hotel Group Chain established a new brand Preferred Boutique in North America and plans to open new hotels not only in America but also in Australia.
Far-famed brand Relais & Chateaux places its stake on Asia. Hotels were opened in Malaysia, Cambodia and Thailand last year. Also the plans of the brand include 10 hotels in Australia. Sydney company Select Hotels & Resorts International has 50 hotels among which there are boutique hotels recently appeared in Sri Lanka, Thailand and Tahiti. As Richard Rosebery, the company promoter, notes, today the houses with national style enjoy more and more popularity in deluxe hotel segment.
Besides, demand for expanded conveniences and luxury is growing among tourists. For example, in recently opened Dhoni Mighili in Maldives each of 6 bungalows has its own courtyard and a swimming pool. Guests are also provided with their own yacht with captain. Internet has played not the last role in growing popularity of boutique hotels. Now many reservation web sites work not only with the prominent brands hotels but also with small hotels offering cheap and luxury services due to the universal reservation systems that allow comprising various lodgings in one network.
