If you are a business that does a lot of traveling, you may find it more cost effective to have a private business jet than it would be to pay for commercial flights every time you have to travel. For example if you have someone flying into Atlanta, Charlotte and Newark and they all fly out the same day chances are they are going to be flying on different airlines at different times and the cost will be per ticket. However, by having a jet you can simply place all three on the plane, fly the first to Atlanta, drop them off, fly the second to Charlotte, drop them off and fly the third to Newark. This could easily be accomplished in a day and of course, the return could easily be done. As a result, there is only a single cost, which is slightly more perhaps than a single ticket. If this is, something that happens frequently with your company than having your own jet may be a worthwhile addition to your company.
While it may seem to be expensive, a jet can cost a million or more, for large companies that have a large group of people who travel on a regular basis or who deal with high level executives it may be more worthwhile to have one than do without and use regular commercial flights. It falls under the same category as having a company car or company owned apartments.
It can also provide a serious tax break for companies to have a company jet and if security is a concern than it is definitely the way to go. There are also a lot of freedoms that you will not find in commercial liner luxuries like room to put your feet up and space to spread out if necessary since you are not packed in like sardines the way some flights can be.
If you doubt that having, a private business jet is worth it. Add up the costs of the tickets, the extra night in the hotel because of scheduling, the wasted time in the airport, and you will find that it works out to be significantly cheaper over the space of a year to have a private business jet than it is to take the commercial route.
